Choose a custom image to use as a marker image

A marker image is an image that image tracking software can identify in a real-world space. The marker image is then used as a point around which to render 3D object.

Marker image requirements

For Hololight Stream, the uploaded marker image must be at least 200 x 200 pixels.

Marker image recommendations

An especially trackable marker image should have the following traits:

  • High-contrast

  • Highly detailed, and the level of detail should be evenly distributed throughout the image.

  • Avoids repetitive patterns.

  • Avoids simple symbols and icons.

  • Avoids circles.

Since the Apple Vision Pro’s image tracking works in gray scale, colors themselves do not make a difference. Using more points on the spectrum between white and black improves tracking.
